As a label Hackett is very much about the the British Lifestyle. Founded in 1983 in by Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd Jennings there are now 12 physical Hackett stores, with a new store about to open in Canary Wharf in London and new stores scheduled to open in Zurich and Amsterdam.
Jeremy Hackett is the chairman and is still very much involved in the business and particularly in the creative areas. He sees a huge appetite for British style all around the World, and feels that the British lifestyle is more appreciated abroad. One of the biggest strengths of Hackett as a brand is that it is truly British and can embrace it's heritage without being old-fashioned.
Asked about what is new from Hackett for Spring/Summer 2011 he referenced the "Correspondent" theme which has travel as one of the key design influences, marrying Hackett's signature style with exceptional quality and a contemporary twist.
There is also the "Carribean" high Summer story which is drenched in colour and focuses on bright prints wwith salt-washed and sun-bleached finishes.
"Nautical Chic" takes elements synonymous with yachting style in a palette of navy and white with accents of red and combines them with Hackett's signature style for a sophisticated take on the nautical lifestyle.
(With the number of boat shoes on offer in recent seasons we reckon Hackett may be on to something here - consumers will be looking for something to go with their boat shoes once they get bored of the boat shoe and chino look!)
Aston Martin Racing (AMR) provides the sport element to the Hackett range, and there is also Mayfair, Hackett London's tailoring lead story which has been softened for Spring/Summer with suiting in cool greys, complemented by knitwear and shirts in pastel and sherbert tones. The Hackett Mayfair collection with it's own distinctive logo of bowler hat and crossed umbrellas has become a standalone lifestyle brand.
Sponsorship is an important element of marketing for any major brand, and Hackett is no exception. A look at the sponsorship list always gives a feel for the kind of associations and direction a brand is seeking, and Hackett have expanded their sponsorship portfolio with the Lotus Racing team in Formula 1 and the aforementioned Aston Martin Racing which sit alongside the Oxford & Cambrige Boat Race, the London Rowing Club, British Army Polo and Klosters Snow Polo.
Woodhouse Clothing is proud to be an official UK retailer for the Hackett range. We have great expectations for the future potential of the Hackett label and we will be expanding our Hackett range with the Autumn/Winter 2010 Hackett collection and the Spring/Summer 2011 range .
